Frequently Asked Questions
Please reach out to journalaik@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Who is eligible to submit a manuscript?
Any student enrolled in high school or equivalent institution at the time of the initial submission is welcome. The journal accepts manuscripts on a rolling basis and publishes in the fall, winter, and spring.
Is there a limit on the number of co-authors?
There is no limit on the number of authors. Appropriate collaborators and advisors who contribute to the manuscript should be recognized. Corresponding authors should be indicated in the manuscript. Editors must communicate with the corresponding author(s) and the advisor(s) to sign a copyright form - all parties will need to sign.
Who can be a research advisor?
Research advisors are professionals who have extensive research experience. Examples are teachers, college/university professors, and industry professionals who can guide research performance and manuscript preparation. Manuscripts must have research advisors to be considered for publication. The research advisor will oversee every step of the research inquiry and dissemination.
What subject areas does JAIK accept for the review?
JAIK accepts original research and significant literature reviews in various fields of study, such as in the Engineering, Humanities, Science, Mathematics, and Social Science disciplines, for publication consideration.
Who are the editors?
The editors are experienced researchers, teachers, and professors in various disciplines.
Can I submit the work published in another journal?
The JAIK only accepts original research or literature review that has not been published or is under consideration for another publication. Submitting the original article to one journal at a time has been considered a publication ethics. Once the publisher denies the manuscript, then the manuscript can be submitted to another journal. It is a general practice that violation of publication ethics, such as duplicate submission, multiple submissions, and plagiarism, will void submission into any journal, even withdrawal from the already published manuscript.
What is the publication process, and how long does it take?
JAIK publication process has four processes: APA formatting and plagiarism check, peer review, revisions, and editorial decision. Each process has a different timeline depending on the alignment with the journal’s guidelines and the punctuality of authors’ responses to requests by the editors. The turnover timeline is estimated to be approximately 3 - 6 months.
What other forms should authors submit with a manuscript?
All authors and advisors will be asked to submit the signed copyright form. If the research involves human subjects, such as an interview/survey, the JAIK may request a copy of the IRB decision letter (approve or waive).
Is there any expense to publish a manuscript?
A submission and review fee of $250 is charged for all new manuscripts.
